Oh my gosh! We can't say enough good things about this trip! The owners were so accommodating when our work schedule started impacting our trip and we can't thank them enough. They are so kind! The farmhouse was so cute with lots of rooms to choose from with updated bathrooms and a screened in porch. We spent so much time reading out on the porch enjoying listening to the cows moo!! We are definitely going to rent here again!

Jump View Farm is an 1870s farmhouse in Rockbridge Baths, Virginia, sleeping eleven across four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It sits on four acres inside a working farm of 177 acres of calf pasture, with Walker's Creek along the front boundary and Jump Mountain filling the view from the porch. It is 2,700 square feet over two floors, and the stairs are original, so it is not a step-free house.
It is close enough to Lexington to be useful and far enough out to be quiet. Lexington is twenty to twenty-five minutes, Washington and Lee seventeen miles, VMI sixteen, and the Virginia Horse Center is a short drive — which is why a good share of guests are here for a parents' weekend, a graduation or a show rather than a holiday. A house that sleeps eleven does something for a family group that a block of hotel rooms cannot.
There is a full tennis court that doubles for pickleball, a basketball hoop, shuffleboard and a firepit already set to light. Goshen Pass, where the Maury River cuts through the mountains and everyone swims in summer, is about seven miles. Jump Mountain Vineyard is two. Staunton, and the best dining in the area, is half an hour north.
There is a Level 2 EV charger at the house. Pets are welcome — up to three, $50 per pet for the first week — though the cattle and the electric fence mean dogs need watching outdoors.

Ian communicated often and in a timely manner, leading up to and while we were staying at his lovely historic farmhouse. The home is better than described, and was perfect for our family to visit and enjoy the countryside. It is a working farm with nearby cattle. Also, the perfect location for stargazing...absolutely AMAZING! The home is very rural. For us, that was not a problem. We loved the quiet. We really appreciated Ian and Christy's attention to detail. The home is clean, spacious, and beautiful. The upper veranda served as a gathering place and the perfect napping spot. We definitely recommend a stay and are already considering our next one. Thank you, Ian and Christy!
We had a wonderful time visiting family in the area and Ian’s place was amazing. Spacious with room for everyone. The pickle ball and fire pit were a hit. The views from the porch while having morning coffee were so peaceful! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful place with us.
